BOYCOTT PIZZA EXPRESS!!!
I heard this weekend that the lovely bar "Urban Vine" is going to be shut down because they are opening a Pizza Express in its place! I am deeply saddened by this news because I feel that the "Urban Vine" is part of the community and should NOT be replaced by yet another large chain restaurant. The one thing I love about Ricky is that it does still have a typically English villagey feel to it and has some unique little shops and restaurants. I urge everyone to NOT go to Pizza Express when it opens in January and maybe they will have to re-open "Urban Vine". What does everyone else feel/think?

i am with you on this! we must keep Ricky special and not a clone of a typical town.

I cant wait for Pizza Express to open. As soon as we get rid of the Penny V and Urban Vine the better for me. It would be nice if we could get the binge drinkers who inhabit our town to go somewhere else. To come into work on a monday and not have sick, empty pint glasses and kebab would be a dream come true. ROLL ON PIZZA EXPRESS, hopefully WAGGAMAMMAS will buy the Penny V.......

Hooray, Ricky has arrived! There is nothing wrong with a decent restaurant! There is nowhere to take your younger kids for dinner as a treat, other than a yukky chinese buffet or the ok italian under the bridge. My Mum and Dad used to take me to the Pizza Express in Hampstead for my birthdays when I was little ( we lived in Kingsbury!) I think it's great that we can now take our kids somewhere reasonably priced with good food, that we can WALK to! Bring it on.

God no! Please don't turn Ricky into another clone town. The lack of bland, mass produced, identical rubbish on sale in town is one of the reasons we were attracted to the area. We already have a Dominoes at Money Hill; please let's keep Ricky unique.

If this does happen thats 5 pizza restaurants in Ricky! Which is just plain stupid! Who on earth are the planners for Ricky and why has this happened!

hello first time i have seen this site..any more news on Urban Vine? I live on the high street and even though i used to enjoy Urban Vine im quite glad that it is closed..although if it stayed open until 11pm then fine but it used to play some really loud music and be opened until 1am... i now have a little baby so less noise the better. Also agree that there does not need to be yet ANOTHER pizza place!

Does anyone know when the Pizza Express is opening?
